The fundamental principles and values that graduates of Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Faculty of Dentistry should possess are defined. These are;
Adherence to ethical values
1-Acts ethically towards patients, their relatives, and society
2-Is aware of legal rights and responsibilities.
3-Performs professional practices by internalizing the "Do no harm" rule.
Dentist
1-Can use current and necessary methods and devices for disease diagnosis and treatment.
2-Considers urgent and priority situations in treatment planning.
3-Can make a treatment plan related to oral and dental health and prescribe appropriate medication.
4-Can identify and manage cases of abuse and/or neglect in patients.
5-Can distinguish special needs and high-risk patient groups and provide oral and dental health services to them.
6-Has the knowledge level to perform professional practices in situations such as disasters and epidemics.
7-Centers preventive and protective dentistry practices in their profession.
Scientist
1-Can critically evaluate information sources related to professional knowledge and skills.
2-Develops themselves by following national and international literature and participating in scientific events and can use these gains in the field of dentistry.
3-Improves foreign language skills to follow international literature.
