Our Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edibe Egil explained Children's Dental Health at Science Cafe Meetings

Our Faculty's Pedodontics Department Faculty Member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edibe Egil was the guest of the Science Cafe Meetings organized by our University's Science Communication Coordination. At the event held at Medusa Valley Cafe on Thursday, October 22, 2026, she gave a presentation titled “From Healthy Teeth to a Healthy Body: What You Need to Know for Your Child”.

In her presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Egil emphasized the importance of instilling proper hygiene habits at an early age for maintaining oral and dental health in children. She also highlighted the significance of preventive dentistry practices. The presentation also covered the role of primary teeth in child development, the prevention of common dental caries, and proper oral care. Information was provided about the effects of habits such as thumb sucking and mouth breathing on jaw and dental development. It was also explained when the first dental examination should be conducted.
